ReeRun shares your runs, rides and steps with your own team in
Slack. It exists to make training visible to colleagues who opted into the same
channel, so the guiding rule is simple: we store what your team already sees,
and nothing else.
Who we are
ReeRun is built and operated by Reeinvent AB, Malmö, Sweden, which is the data controller for the information described here. Reach us at app@reeinvent.com.
What we store
From Slack
Your Slack user ID, display name and avatar image URL, so posts and leaderboards can show who you are.
From Strava or Garmin (only if you connect them)
Each activity as it appears in Slack and the app: title, sport, distance, duration, pace, elevation, calories and a heart-rate summary.
The activity route, plus the per-point streams behind the map and charts (coordinates, altitude, heart rate).
An access token for the service you connected, so ReeRun can fetch new activities. You can disconnect at any time from your profile, which deletes the token.
From Apple Health on iOS, or Health Connect on Android (only if you allow it in the app)
Your daily step total, which feeds the team journey and steps leaderboard.
Workouts recorded by your watch or workout app: Apple Watch and the iPhone Workout app on iOS, and on Android the exercise sessions other apps have written to Health Connect. ReeRun keeps the sport, when it started, how long it lasted, distance, calories and total climb. Manually typed-in steps and workouts are deliberately excluded on both platforms.
Your average and maximum heart rate during a workout, shown on that workout’s card. Only those two numbers are kept, never a heart rate recording, and heart rate is never read outside a workout.
The GPS route of a workout, to draw its map. Coordinates only, thinned to at most 300 points.
Steps, exercise sessions, workout heart rate and workout routes are everything ReeRun asks Apple Health or Health Connect for.
From you
Anything you post to the feed: text, photos and videos, plus your reactions and comments.
Technical
An Apple push notification token for your device, so the app can notify your team about journey milestones and stops. Removed automatically once Apple reports the token as no longer valid.
A session cookie that keeps you signed in on the website.
What we never store or do
Sleep, sleeping or resting heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen, ECG, blood pressure, glucose, weight, body composition, stress, menstrual or reproductive health, medications, symptoms or medical records. ReeRun never asks Apple Health or Health Connect for any of these, so it cannot read them at all. Garmin’s permission screen asks for a broad health category, but everything except the daily step count is discarded on arrival and never written to our database.
Health data for advertising, marketing or any use beyond showing your team the progress described above.
Your data sold, rented or shared with data brokers. There is no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking in ReeRun.
Who your data is shared with
Your Slack workspace: activities, leaderboards and journey updates are posted into the channel your team chose. Everyone in that channel can see them. This is the whole point of ReeRun, so treat anything you sync as visible to your teammates.
Google Maps Platform: route coordinates are sent to Google to render the map image on an activity, and place names are geocoded to plan a team journey route.
OpenAI: when the insight line under a Slack post is generated, a small set of numeric facts about the activity (distances, gaps in days, counts) is sent for wording. No names, no Slack IDs and no coordinates are included, and the output is stored once and never regenerated.
Apple: push notifications are delivered through Apple’s Push Notification service.
Amazon Web Services: ReeRun runs on a single AWS server and the database lives on its disk.
These are processors acting on our instructions. Nobody else receives your data.
Apple Health and Health Connect
Step counts and workouts read from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) are used for one purpose: showing your team's shared progress inside ReeRun. In line with Apple's HealthKit requirements and Google Play's Health Connect policy, this data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, never used to determine credit, insurance or employment, and never disclosed to data brokers. It is not shared with any third party beyond your own Slack workspace, and it is never used for anything other than the fitness features described on this page.
How long we keep it
Your activities, steps and posts are kept for as long as you use ReeRun, because they are what the leaderboards and journey history are built from. Disconnecting a source deletes its access token straight away and stops new data arriving; activities already shared with the team remain until you delete your account, which erases all of it at once.
Your choices and rights
ReeRun is operated from Sweden and follows the GDPR. You can:
Disconnect a source: Strava and Garmin can be disconnected from your profile at any time. New activities stop arriving immediately.
Turn off Apple Health: revoke access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → ReeRun. Steps stop syncing.
Turn off Health Connect: revoke ReeRun’s access in Android Settings → Health Connect → App permissions → ReeRun. Steps stop syncing. Data ReeRun has already read is deleted with your account, below.
Delete a post: your own feed posts can be deleted in the app, which also removes them from Slack.
Delete your account: open Profile in the app and tap Delete account. It removes your user record, activities and route streams, steps, posts and their media, comments and reactions, saved connections and your push token, and deletes your shared posts from Slack. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
Ask for a copy of your data or a correction: email app@reeinvent.com and we will action it within 30 days.
Children
ReeRun is intended for adults in a workplace or club setting and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in substance we update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how your data is used will be announced in the Slack channel ReeRun posts to.
Questions, or want your data removed? Email

we handle a request you can complain to the Swedish authority, IMY
